About

Take it outside with Alaqua Animal Refuge’s dog park, Alaqua Unleashed!

Located in South Walton County on J.D. Miller Road (see our map for directions), Alaqua Unleashed offers a great place for dogs to run, play and enjoy some fun in the Florida sun, year round.

Our park, which opened in the spring of 2011, currently offers agility and obedience training classes. Future plans include a landscaped and sheltered seating area; sections for large, small and senior/handicapped dogs; restrooms; a hiking area and a water feature. As well, long-term plans also call for the park to include a concert area and more for community events.

Alaqua Unleashed is supported through memberships, sponsorships and donations. Check out this site for more information on being part of this exciting canine-community park or call (850) 880-6399.

Alaqua Unleashed Mission:

To develop and maintain a contained, nature-friendly, off-leash/on-leash dog park, where well-behaved canines and members of the community can exercise and socialize in a clean, safe environment. To develop and maintain an attractive space for music, art and community events open to all who are willing to uphold the park’s policies and rules. To promote education, training and recreational activities that facilitate responsible dog ownership and better-behaved dogs through the use of volunteers and professional dog trainers. To view this park as a community project, in partnership with Walton County, Fla. designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike and serve as a supportive arm to the Alaqua Animal Refuge.

Alaqua Animal Refuge operates entirely on donations and private funding. Please join us today and provide shelter, safety and second chances to animals in need.
